Classroom Agenda Board

They're Back!!!!! I welcomed students back to my classroom this past Thursday. It was a very interesting day for me to say the least. This is the first time in nine years that my sixth graders are using the bell schedule that our school's 7th and 8th graders use. They are changing classes every period. It's going to be quite an adjustment.

I want to share something exciting I made before school started! It's what I'm calling our classroom an agenda board.

I used washi tape to create the frame and the individual sections. Then, I went to a local store that does vinyl lettering and told them the height and width I wanted all my words to be. The vinyl words were very easy to apply to my board, and they gave me 25% off since I was a teacher! I love the perks of being a teacher.

Every class period when my students come in, they are to look for the focus assignment written for their current subject area. This is like a bell ringer assignment, but I just wanted to call it something different. I will also use the "Objective" side to post the current objective we are working on in that particular subject area.

The date and homework areas are self-explanatory, but I'm hoping by having all this in one area in my classroom that it will help my students be more organized for the three subjects I teach them.

As I went over my classroom procedures, I explained to the students how the board will work. So far so good. Do you use anything similar in your classroom? Please share.
